So this internship thing might be panning out. Well, it already has in a sense -- I do have the internship. But I'm still worried that they'll show me the door posthaste, once they realize I wasn't kidding when I confessed that I don't know squat about a slew of purportedly important concepts signified by three-letter acronyms such as .NET, ASP, XML, etc. On the other hand, if they're at least temporarily okay with that fact, I'll not only get paid but maybe learn a lot as well.
I feel as if I'm being dropped naked in the jungle, clutching only the dull and unfashionable knife that is my vast experience in making Java compilers produce errors. But miles away, through the rainforest murk, the clinging vines, the lurking hordes of apex predators and the swarming tropical parasites, there glimmers a prize of unknowable value -- unknowable, because I can't tell what it is. But it's shiny! And I'm going to get eaten by jaguars anyway if I don't get moving.
Thus is my anticipation.
Also, Stephanie listens to Dashboard Confessional now. Not sure what to think about that.
